COOKIE POLICY

Sourced Meals (sourcedmeals.co.uk)
Last updated: October 2026

1. ABOUT THIS POLICY

This policy explains how sourcedmeals.co.uk uses cookies and similar technologies, what they do, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we look after your personal data more generally.

The website is operated by Chef's Fayre Ltd trading as Sourced Meals, company number 14239403, 12 Alston Road, Hellesdon, Norwich, Norfolk, NR6 5DS. If you have any questions about this policy, email hello@sourcedmeals.co.uk.

We comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, and the UK General Data Protection Regulation.

2. WHAT COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES ARE

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit. Cookies let a website recognise your device, remember your choices and understand how the site is being used. Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser (session cookies). Others stay on your device for a set period (persistent cookies).

Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by another organisation through content or tools included on that website are called third-party cookies.

Websites also use similar technologies that do a comparable job. Local storage keeps small amounts of information in your browser without using a cookie. Pixels (also called tags) are tiny pieces of code that send information about your visit to a service provider. When we say cookies in this policy, we mean all of these technologies.

3. HOW WE ASK FOR YOUR CONSENT

Essential cookies are set automatically because the website cannot work safely without them. Everything else is switched off until you tell us otherwise.

When you first visit the website you will see a cookie banner, provided by Usercentrics. You can choose Accept All, Deny, or open the settings and switch individual categories on or off before choosing Save Settings. No analytics or marketing cookies are set until you have made your choice.

Your choice is remembered in your browser so that you are not asked again on every page. You can change your mind at any time by clicking the fingerprint icon in the bottom left corner of any page, which reopens the banner. Switching a category off takes effect straight away, although cookies that have already been placed may remain on your device until they expire or you delete them (see section 7).

If we add a new tool or change the way we use cookies, we will ask for your consent again.

Usercentrics keeps a record of the choice you made so that we can respect it and show that consent was given. The record includes the time of your choice, the categories you accepted or declined, your browser type, the page you were on and the language of the banner. Your IP address is used to work out which rules apply to you and is not kept. Consent records are held by Usercentrics GmbH, Munich, Germany, on servers in the European Union and are deleted after one year.

4. THE CATEGORIES WE USE

Our banner groups cookies into four categories.

Essential: needed for the website to work and to keep it secure, for example to protect forms against misuse, balance load across servers and remember your cookie choices. These cookies are exempt from the consent requirement because they are strictly necessary to provide the website you have asked for.

Functional: remember settings that change how the website looks or behaves for you. We do not currently use any functional cookies.

Analytical: help us understand how visitors use the website so that we can improve it. These are only set if you accept them.

Marketing: used to measure our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to show our adverts to people who have visited our website. These are only set if you accept them.

5. THE COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES WE USE

5.1 Essential

These are set by Wix.com Ltd, which provides the platform our website runs on, and by Usercentrics GmbH, which provides our cookie banner.

XSRF-TOKEN (Wix): protects the website against forged requests. Expires when you close your browser.
hs (Wix): security cookie. Expires when you close your browser.
svSession (Wix): security, stability and core site functions, including recognising your visit across pages. Expires after 12 months.
wixSession (Wix): security, stability and core site functions. Expires after 12 months.
SSR-caching (Wix): tells Wix how the page was rendered so it can be served quickly. Expires after 24 hours.
bSession (Wix): measures system effectiveness so that Wix can keep the platform running reliably. Expires after 24 hours.
TS* (Wix): a family of cookies used to detect attacks on the website. Expire when you close your browser.
server-session-bind and client-session-bind (Wix): protect the connection between your browser and Wix's servers. Expire when you close your browser.
oAuthState (Wix): session identification. Expires when you close your browser.
sec-fetch-unsupported (Wix): records that your browser cannot support certain security features. Expires when you close your browser.
_wixAB3 (Wix): used by Wix for platform experiments. Expires after 6 months.
fedops.logger.sessionId (Wix, local storage): records technical errors so that Wix can keep the site stable. Kept for 12 months.
consent-policy (Wix): stores the cookie categories you have accepted so that Wix knows which tools may run. Expires after 12 months.
ucData, ucString and ucGcmStatus (Usercentrics, local storage): store the choices you made in the cookie banner, the version of the banner you saw and the signals passed to Google about your choices. Kept until you clear your browser's site data or change your choices.

Wix also uses the information gathered by these essential cookies to give us simple, aggregated statistics about the website, such as how many people visited and which pages were most popular. Wix produces these statistics on our behalf, does not share the underlying information with anyone else, and cannot identify you from them. If you would prefer your visits not to be counted in this way, you can block cookies in your browser as described in section 7, or contact us.

5.2 Functional

We do not currently set any functional cookies. If we add features that need them, we will update this policy and ask for your consent.

5.3 Analytical

Google Analytics 4 (set by Google): helps us understand how people find and use the website, which pages are popular, how long visitors stay and roughly where in the world they are. Google Analytics does not log or store your IP address and the information we see is aggregated. We have set our Google Analytics data retention to 14 months.

_ga: distinguishes one visitor from another using a randomly generated identifier. Expires after 2 years.
_ga_[identifier]: keeps track of your current visit (session) on the website. Expires after 2 years.

Google Maps (set by Google): our cookie banner also lists Google Maps, together with Google Fonts and reCAPTCHA, under this category. These only come into play if a page displays an interactive map or a protected form. When they load, Google may collect your IP address, approximate location and how you interact with the map, and may set cookies on the google.com domain. Google's cookie information is at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.

5.4 Marketing

Meta Pixel and Conversions API (set by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited): lets us measure how well our Facebook and Instagram adverts are working, show our adverts to people who have visited our website, and reach people with similar interests. The Pixel records the pages you view and actions you take on our website, together with your browser and device information. Where you also have a Facebook or Instagram account, Meta may link this information to your account under its own privacy policy. We only send this information to Meta if you have accepted marketing cookies.

_fbp: identifies your browser so that Meta can measure adverts and build audiences. Expires after 90 days.
_fbc: stores the identifier from a Meta advert you clicked to reach our website, so that Meta can attribute your visit to that advert. Only set if you arrive from a Meta advert. Expires after 90 days.
fr (third-party, set on facebook.com): used by Meta to deliver, measure and improve the relevance of adverts. Expires after 90 days.

6. CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES

Some pages display our latest Instagram posts. These are delivered through Wix's Instagram Feed app, which fetches the posts on our behalf, so viewing the feed does not set Meta cookies in your browser. If you click a post, you will be taken to Instagram and Meta's own cookie and privacy policies will apply from that point.

Links to our Trade Account Portal, our social media profiles and other websites take you away from sourcedmeals.co.uk. Those sites set their own cookies and we have no control over them.

7. HOW TO CONTROL COOKIES

The simplest way to control cookies on our website is through the cookie banner. Click the fingerprint icon in the bottom left corner of any page to reopen it and change your choices.

You can also manage cookies through your browser. Most browsers let you see which cookies are stored, delete some or all of them, and block cookies from particular websites or altogether. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of our website from working properly. Instructions for the most common browsers are here:

Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
Apple Safari: support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/safari/sfri11471/mac
Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-desktop
Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies-in-microsoft-edge-63947406-40ac-c3b8-57b9-2a946a29ae09

To stop Google Analytics collecting information about you on any website, you can install Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

To control how Meta uses information from websites that use its tools, go to your Facebook or Instagram settings and look for "Your activity off Meta technologies". You can also adjust your advertising preferences there.

For more general information about cookies and how to manage them, visit ico.org.uk or allaboutcookies.org.

8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We review this policy when we add or remove tools from the website and at least once a year. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Significant changes will be reflected in the cookie banner, which will ask for your consent again where needed.
